Avril's Story
Since my teens, I haven't stopped caring for and about my skin. No matter where I am or what's happening in my life, my skincare is there with me and I use it.
Initially, I had no idea that the health of my skin was a reflection of my internal health. I was obsessed with what I could see on the surface—the acne, the breakouts, the red scarring. But my path in life (my skin troubles being a part of that) led me to explore deeper into my body and into myself overall.
This path took me into the esthetics industry, where I trained and practiced as an esthetician for about 8 years. But when my continued skin issues weren't being resolved, I walked away. Something was missing. I was being guided to expand my knowledge beyond what traditional esthetics offered.
So I did. I studied nutrition. I trained in holistic healing modalities. I dove into herbs, supplements, essential oils, food, and new approaches to health that bridged the topical and the internal. Through years of learning and experimenting—with skin health and beauty remaining central in my life—I finally discovered what actually supported my skin's healing.
And once I found it, I didn't stop there. I kept exploring, even more inspired now that I understood what works, why it works, and how to nurture a deeper relationship with the healing power of what we put on and in our bodies.
For years after that, I took for granted the knowledge I'd gained and how it could support others. Friends and family would point this out to me. People kept asking about their skin, trusting my input, listening when I talked about it. Life kept leading me back here. So I stopped resisting, started Skin Wisdom, and returned to practicing as an esthetician—this time with a much deeper understanding of true skin health.
Now I get to share what I've learned with my clients and introduce them to the gorgeous, healing products that I nurture myself with daily. It can feel and smell luxurious. It can be as simple as a homemade mask with honey or clay. I love it, my skin loves it, and I would love for you to experience the same care as my client.
